We’re seeking an exceptional Director of Strategic Marketing to lead transformative marketing strategies across a diverse portfolio of ~90 online postgraduate programs in collaboration with more than 10 leading Australian university partners.
In this critical leadership role, you will champion the student experience, leveraging the ‘voice of the student’ and funnel insights to design insight-led marketing strategies and value propositions that win their hearts and minds at every stage of their journey to drive enrolments. To do this, you’ll have deep end-to-end experience in brand, digital marketing, and AI-enabled technologies to drive innovation and growth at scale.
You’ll lead a talented team of senior marketers, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement to drive high performance and best practice. Your success in this role hinges on your ability to influence and build trusted relationships – across university partners, internal teams, and external agencies – while aligning marketing efforts to our broader growth strategy.
Key Focus Areas:
- Lead the development of transformative, insight-led marketing strategies that exceed growth targets.
- Build trusted relationships with senior marketers and academics across partner universities to influence and align efforts for marketing success
- Champion innovation to unlock scalable growth and future-proof the portfolio.
- Drive performance marketing with analytical rigour and a data-first mindset.
- Lead digital excellence, leveraging AI and martech to enhance efficiency and impact.
- Inspire, coach and empower a high-performing team with a focus on outcomes.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to amplify results across the organisation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields.
- Postgraduate education highly desirable
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in senior marketing leadership roles, ideally in enterprise, edtech, education or service-based sales industries.
- Significant experience overseeing and optimising large multi-million-dollar performance media budgets.
- Extensive strategic planning skills overseeing the development of full-funnel, strategic marketing plans that are insight-led and customer-focused.
- Proven commercial acumen with a history of delivering measurable business results.
- Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive business focussed outcomes internally and externally in complex organisations and environments.
- Experience with high-commitment complex buying journeys is highly desirable with understanding of levers across the full consumer lifecycle.
- Experience driving change through an organisation or team to deliver improved outcomes.
- Proven experience running a portfolio or marketing function to drive growth.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and navigating matrixed stakeholder environments.
Technical:
- Leans into analytics and data and is highly confident using data and insights to inform strategy, optimise performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven expertise in digital marketing across PPC, SEO, social media and website optimisation, with a strategic understanding of the integrated digital ecosystem to drive demand and maximise conversion.
- Strong understanding of marketing platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, CRM, media dashboards).
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Very strong presentation and communication skills.
Special Requirements:
- Attendance at on-campus or in-person meetings as required.
- Attendance at student events and video production shoots as required, which may occur out of business hours.
- Willingness to travel interstate for any of the above as required.
